When is it necessary to update APE codes?
My work situation for the education side of my business has changed and I’m wondering if and when I need to update my APE code.
I arrived in France with a contract from a US client to plan and direct a study abroad program that is funded by a federal grant. Due to the recent US government shutdown and other factors, the client does not have an active grant and the status of the program is uncertain, so I have not been able to start this work. If it does start in 2026, it will provide the bulk of my AE income. In the meantime, I’ve accepted contract work as a freelance English trainer for an organisme de formation.
Currently, my APE code is Activit茅s de soutien 脿 l’enseignement because my work with the US client is more admin than teaching.
1 - Since I’m currently giving online English lessons, should I change my APE code to Autres enseignments, which is what the organisme de formation uses?
2 - Would Autres enseignements perhaps be a better code to cover both of these types of work?
3 - If a change of APE code is recommended, is it best to make the change before the end of the year?
