Is zone rural exoneration (ZRR) available to auto entrepreneurs?

After attending the obligatory Stage Prealable 脿 l鈥橧nstallation () course at the Chambre de Metiers to be able to start as a auto entrepreneur, I learnt that I should be able to apply for the zones de revitalisation rurale (ZRR) exemption.
I work in houses in these rural areas. I was told to apply to my local Centre de Impots. I was informed by them that I was a sole trader and this exemption of taxes was only applicable for businesses in France and not sole traders. Is this true?
