How do I arrange to pay my business cotisations monthly in France?

I have just completed the obligatory in France and started work in January. I thought I had registered my business to declare my income monthly. Today I received a bill for cotisations on an estimated revenue for the whole of 2016. I have obviously got something wrong. I have emailed r茅gime social des ind茅pendants (RSI) today, is there anything else I should do?
