CFE business reference does not match my fiscal number?

I am paying my cotisation fonci猫re des entreprises (CFE) for my business set up in France and have followed your instructions. However, they say the reference number does not match my fiscal number - although I am taking it directly from the CFE section where it gives me my amount. Any advice?
