Are there existing medical conditions which could cause your visa application to be rejected?

I have just been diagnosed with cancer, and am postponing my move to France until my initial treatment is finished and I am considered cured or in remission. If I move while the cancer is in remission, would my medical check-up result in either a rejection of my visa or make it impossible to obtain a one-year insurance policy or the carte vitale?
